Includes orders given by Major G. Wolfe in America, 1759; orders given by Prince Ferdinand [1758]; the title page also states "and other generals in America from the year 1758 to 1762," but this is not present. The book further contains instructions drawn up by the late Major General Wolfe for the 20th Regiment of Foot in case of the French landing in 1755; query stated by the Duke of Argyle about removing soldiers and Sir Philip York's opinion dated May 6, 1727; War Office, letter of Feb 8, 1766, from Barrington to Charles Gould; a statement by John Burgoyne dated June 24, 1777; copy of instructions issued by William Pitt dated Dec. 17, 1760 and Feb. 9, 1765; regulations of honour; and orders pertaining to the court martial of Lieutenant Colonel John Doveton of the British Army in Madras, 1809 to 1810.
